Hi all! Oral examinations have definitely started in schools and many of you are probably practising hard these few weeks. We have published several posts on the topic of oral (which you can find over here) and are glad to share that we have made a video to aid children who are visual learners. Being only 3 minutes long, we hope that parents and children who are strapped for time will find this an efficient way of learning and pick up the 3 must-dos (English oral practice reading) with some verbal and visual explanations in the video.
I don’t have the gift of the gab. That is wrong! Reading and conversational skills can be learnt and improved on. You just need to know which areas to take note of and work on. Let us start by bringing out the chatterbox that is in you.
This video has information on Exam Tips For Students In English Oral Practice, English Oral Examinations PSLE Tips and Reading Tips Before Oral Examination.
Hello! Today, Lil’ but Mighty will share a simple video focusing on three things you can do during preparation time before your oral exam.
Tip 1: During the reading portion, read in an audible but soft voice, like a whisper, to hear yourself without being too loud. This helps avoid mistakes, as silent reading can make everything seem perfect when it isn’t.
Tip 2: Fake confidence. Break down difficult words and recognise parts you know, then confidently attempt the pronunciation. Fluency is key, even if you’re unsure.
Tip 3: Pay attention to word endings. Missing sounds like ‘s’ can change meanings, so be mindful when pronouncing words.
I hope these tips help with your oral exam preparation. If you found this video helpful, leave us a comment or visit our website and Facebook page for more tips. See you soon!
