Ms Sze Li's Teacher Spotlight

What is it like working at LBM?
Working at LBM has been a joyful and an enriching experience. I have learnt a lot from my fellow colleagues and grown tremendously as a teacher. Every individual at LBM is a friendly face and no one hesitates to lend a helping hand. It’s a pleasure and honour to be part of the LBM family!

What inspires you to teach?
Ever since I was in school, I have always looked up to my teachers as role models. They played a huge role in my life and motivated me to achieve my dreams. It has always been my desire to become a teacher who can inspire the next generation. I can vividly recall the days when I pretend to be a teacher teaching a class in my living room. I am glad to say that I no longer have to play pretend and I look forward to teaching in the LBM classroom every week! In addition, being able to craft the very curriculum that I teach in class weekly gives me a great sense of achievement. It is amazing to see how the very materials I have created translate into lessons that impart knowledge to the children in a classroom.

Sze Li Teacher Story

Why do you love teaching English?
For me, English has always been a challenging subject to teach. Unlike Mathematics or Science which are topical, English is more fluid by nature. Nonetheless, I love giving myself a challenge! At LBM, I am equipped with the necessary skills to teach English in a systematic and strategic manner, which makes it enjoyable when I am able to impart the same knowledge to my students.

What do you do in your free time?
During my free time, I enjoy cooking up a storm at home or going to the gym to work up a sweat. Other than that, I also spend a lot of time training my pet dog, Harley, at home. Whether it is cooking, exercising or spending time with my pet, I believe that I should always make use of my free time to unwind and do activities that I enjoy!
