Ms Karen enjoys making language learning relevant for students. She enjoys the ‘lightbulb moment’ that students have when finally understanding a concept or mastering a skill. To her, the most fulfilling part of teaching is when students reap the benefits of their hard work.
Ms Karen's Profile
Having taught for three years at a Secondary school, Ms Karen finds small-group learning where each student can get more personalised feedback and attention to be effective. She tends to adapting her teaching style to suit her learners and her belief is that with hard work and consistent guidance, every child can do well in English.
In her free time, Ms Karen enjoys bouldering and calisthenics.

What inspires you to teach?
I love seeing students progress academically and grow in character. I find it most rewarding when students slowly improve and learn to understand and apply the concepts and methods taught.
Why do you love teaching English?
Beyond doing well in exams, the ability to speak confidently and communicate well is a lifelong skill that a learner will benefit from in all areas of their life. I like helping students learn to write clearly so that they can better express themselves.
What do you do in your free time?
I enjoy rock climbing and playing video games.
