What is it like working at LBM?
Working at LBM has been a joyful and an enriching experience. I have learnt a lot from my fellow colleagues and grown tremendously as a teacher. Every individual at LBM is a friendly face and no one hesitates to lend a helping hand. It’s a pleasure and honour to be part of the LBM family!
What inspires you to teach?
Ever since I was in school, I have always looked up to my teachers as role models. They played a huge role in my life and motivated me to achieve my dreams. It has always been my desire to become a teacher who can inspire the next generation. I can vividly recall the days when I pretend to be a teacher teaching a class in my living room. I am glad to say that I no longer have to play pretend and I look forward to teaching in the LBM classroom every week! In addition, being able to craft the very curriculum that I teach in class weekly gives me a great sense of achievement. It is amazing to see how the very materials I have created translate into lessons that impart knowledge to the children in a classroom.
Why do you love teaching English?
I enjoy teaching English as there are many interesting ways to help students learn through a variety of strategies. I want to help students foster skills to communicate effectively in the language. I feel that language skills play a crucial role in building self-confidence. When I teach English, I also help students develop the ability to express themselves fluently, understand others, and engage in meaningful conversations. It is especially rewarding when students made progress and increased their confidence to use the language in their daily lives, and not just for academic purposes.
What do you do in your free time?
I have a few hobbies. I used to be an avid diver and I enjoy travelling to explore the depths of the seas and meeting different marine creatures. Those have been humbling and enriching experiences. Sometimes, I enjoy going for a jog and I also dance to ensure that I keep fit and healthy. Occasionally, I also like meeting up with my friends for a meal or activities. Definitely, family time is also important to me and I make it a point to spend time with my family members regularly.
