My son has been under Ms Celina’s guidance at the Hougang branch since the start of his Primary 5 year. During this time, we have consistently received regular updates on his progress, along with clear and constructive feedback. She highlights specific areas for improvement, not only outlining what she will focus on in class but also guiding us as parents on how we can support his learning at home. The clarity of her feedback has helped us better understand how to work together to support our son and help him reach the next level in his performance. Thank you, Ms Celina, for your dedication and conscientious work.

I am Jun Yu from Primary 5 and my teacher is Ms Celina from the Hougang branch. I enjoy attending lessons at Lil’ but Mighty as Ms Celina is cheerful and makes the lesson interesting and engaging. Before joining Lil’ but Mighty, I found comprehension challenging. Now I am more confident when attempting comprehension questions. Ms Celina also conducted oral practices and provides us helpful feedback.

name of child:Evonne puah primary 6 name of teacher: Ms Celina branch: Hougang When I first entered the classroom for her lesson she helped me to understand the lesson and always explain in full detail. When I did not know how to do a question, she will gladly help me by not just providing me with the answer but she will guide me on how to arrive at the answer. When we had finished a paper, she would explain and tell me the components which I can improve on. After every lesson, she would always encourage us that we can do it. So I really appreciate the help my teacher has given to make me improve so much. Thank you for being so helpful and always being there to encourage me!!

My son attended Ms Celina's oral + synthesis workshop. He did AL 2 for English. We do not have English tuition and relied entirely on notes and pointers from Ms Celina's classes + elearning. I find the elearning notes comprehensive and can rewatch to reinforce learning. My thanks to Ms Celina. Her lessons helped my son see a quick improvement in his compre & synthesis section.

Ms Celina's Teacher Spotlight

What is it like working at LBM?
Working at LBM has been a joyful and an enriching experience. I have learnt a lot from my fellow colleagues and grown tremendously as a teacher. Every individual at LBM is a friendly face and no one hesitates to lend a helping hand. It’s a pleasure and honour to be part of the LBM family!

What inspires you to teach?
Ever since I was in school, I have always looked up to my teachers as role models. They played a huge role in my life and motivated me to achieve my dreams. It has always been my desire to become a teacher who can inspire the next generation. I can vividly recall the days when I pretend to be a teacher teaching a class in my living room. I am glad to say that I no longer have to play pretend and I look forward to teaching in the LBM classroom every week! In addition, being able to craft the very curriculum that I teach in class weekly gives me a great sense of achievement. It is amazing to see how the very materials I have created translate into lessons that impart knowledge to the children in a classroom.

Celina Teacher Story

Why do you love teaching English?
I enjoy teaching English as there are many interesting ways to help students learn through a variety of strategies. I want to help students foster skills to communicate effectively in the language. I feel that language skills play a crucial role in building self-confidence. When I teach English, I also help students develop the ability to express themselves fluently, understand others, and engage in meaningful conversations. It is especially rewarding when students made progress and increased their confidence to use the language in their daily lives, and not just for academic purposes.

What do you do in your free time?
I have a few hobbies. I used to be an avid diver and I enjoy travelling to explore the depths of the seas and meeting different marine creatures. Those have been humbling and enriching experiences. Sometimes, I enjoy going for a jog and I also dance to ensure that I keep fit and healthy. Occasionally, I also like meeting up with my friends for a meal or activities. Definitely, family time is also important to me and I make it a point to spend time with my family members regularly.
