Teacher Kyria has been very patient and encouraging with my child in P1 at the Clementi centre. My child enjoys the lessons and has become more confident in English. The lessons on story plot writing using 5W1H, comprehension techniques like finding references, and grammar rules such as SVA have been very helpful and easy for young children to understand. The classes are engaging and enjoyable, and my child always looks forward to attending them. Highly recommended!

My daughter is currently having lessons at LBM Clementi branch under Teacher Kyrie. She has been thoroughly enjoying it and looking forward to Teacher Kyrie's lesson every week. Classes are very interactive and explanations are well structured. Teacher Kyrie is very caring and often goes the extra mile eg: patiently coaching and answering our many questions via the AQ connection app. We are happy to see much improvement after enrolling with LBM. Thank you!

Miss Kyria Ng

Specialist English Teacher

With a double major in Language and Literature and a minor in Criminology, I was introduced to the world of linguistics and how language shapes thought and expression. This background has provided me with a strong foundation, which I often draw upon when guiding students on their learning journey.

Miss Kyria Ng's Profile

Kyria Profile Picture

I have nearly a decade of experience teaching English to students from kindergarten to upper secondary levels, across both MOE and international schools. Working with such diverse learners has taught me that no two children are the same. I believe that patience and creativity are essential, and I enjoy creating lessons that are both engaging and meaningful, making learning a fun and enjoyable experience.

I see language as a craft that can be nurtured over time, with no single fixed path to mastery. English is both beautiful and empowering, and I often use children’s literature to spark curiosity and open new doors for my students. Reading, I believe, is the foundation of language learning. By applying English to both real-world contexts and examinations, I aim to equip my students with skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Miss Kyria Ng's Teacher Spotlight

What inspires you to teach?

I am inspired by the spark in a child’s eyes when a concept finally makes sense—whether it is unpacking a challenging passage or learning to transform sentences with confidence. Watching students grow in their ability to express themselves, both in writing and speech, is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. What keeps me motivated is seeing their steady progress over the years as they develop both academically and linguistically.

Why do you love teaching English?

I love teaching English because it is a language that is both beautiful and empowering. Its richness lies not only in its grammar and structure but also in the stories and ideas it carries. Sharing this with my students excites me, as I get to nurture their appreciation for the language and guide them in using it meaningfully, both in the classroom and beyond.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy reading across different genres, with classic literature and crime novels being my favourites. I also keep active through Pilates, and I treasure moments with my cat, Hinari, whose playful and goofy antics never fail to brighten my day.
