What inspires you to teach?
When I was a child, my phonics teacher inspired me to learn the English language through stories and interactive activities. I went on to teach alongside her post graduation, and I have grown to love seeing students’ faces light up when they get their aha moment.
Why do you love teaching English?
Humans are social creatures. The way we interact and engage with one another is through language, where we learn about others’ personalities, likes and dislikes. English also allows us to widen our perspectives when travelling as we get to converse with locals using this beautiful universal language.
What do you do in your free time?
I have a multitude of hobbies, including crocheting miniature toys, painting, playing the guitar and the piano. When I have a few days to rejuvenate, my choice of relaxation is to go on a diving trip. When I am underwater, I get to see marine animals and experience what we do not get to, when we are on land. There is just something magical about that.
