With a love for the English language since young, Ms Rachel has always strove to understand the language through continuous self-directed learning. This led her to pursue the study of Linguistics in university and eventually co-publish a research article in the Journal of Linguistics. She hopes to impart that same love and skill to her students. She believes that a deeper understanding of the English Language can build confidence in the subject and in real-world situations.

Ms Rachel believes that every student will be able to soar and reach their potential in her classroom when they broaden and deepen their perspectives, drawing on their own unique experiences to create stories that resonate with them.

What inspires you to teach?
The teachers who believed in me when I did not inspired me to start teaching. It made me realise the sheer power of believing in a child’s potential and how far it can take them.
Why do you love teaching English?
I love it when students have that “aha!” moment when I teach them and how they start to see that English is not that scary. When I see students grow and improve, the feeling I get is indescribable.
What do you do in your free time?
I’ve liked baking since my teenage years, and recently I have started baking bread! It brings me joy to see others enjoy what I make
