Ms Dharshini's Teacher Spotlight

What inspires you to teach?

I am inspired by moments of transformation, the quiet moments when a student begins to believe in themselves. I enjoy being part of a learner’s journey, not just as a teacher, but as someone who helps them uncover strengths they did not know they possessed. For me, teaching is about opening doors, helping students find confidence in their ideas, courage in their voice, and joy in the journey of learning. The privilege of witnessing growth, no matter how small, continues to be my greatest source of inspiration.

Why do you love teaching English?

I love teaching English because it sits at the intersection of logic, creativity, and human connection. English is more than a subject; it is a way of understanding stories, perspectives, and the world around us. I enjoy showing students that words have the power to inspire, persuade, comfort, and challenge. Whether I am guiding students through a piece of literature or helping them craft their own narratives, I find immense satisfaction in helping young people discover the impact of their voices.

Teacher Dharshini's Story

What do you do in your free time?

When I am not teaching, I can often be found exploring the things that spark my curiosity and creativity. I enjoy gazing at the night sky and learning about astronomy, finding wonder in the vastness of the universe. I also have a deep appreciation for the arts and has learnt Carnatic violin, Carnatic flute, and Veenai, instruments that have taught me the beauty of patience, discipline, and lifelong learning. An avid writer and painter, I enjoy expressing ideas through both words and colours. I believe that the best teachers remain lifelong learners, and I actively seek experiences that allow me to continue growing, creating, and seeing the world through fresh eyes.
