What inspires you to teach?
Children are like blank sheets of paper, and I find immense fulfillment in guiding their young minds toward a brighter path, helping them become not only better students but better individuals. There is great joy in connecting with them, and it is incredibly rewarding when they respond positively, enjoy my classes, and look forward to learning with me. As the saying goes, “when you teach others, you also learn,” and this could not be more true in my experience. Every day, I grow alongside my students, learning from them just as much as I teach them, and this constant personal growth fuels my passion for teaching even more.
Why do you love teaching English?
I love teaching English because it is a language that unites people from all walks of life, especially in the context of Singapore, where people of different races are brought together through this shared use of the language. As one of the most spoken languages globally, English equips students with the ability to communicate and connect with people worldwide, bridging cultural differences, be it when they travel or seek employment in the future. It is heartening to see students build their vocabulary and language ability to become more effective communicators.
