Letter from our Curriculum Lead

Dear Parents, Students and Educators,

We hope the past month has been a joyful time of rest and celebration with your loved ones. As the Head of Primary Curriculum, I am delighted to welcome each member of our vibrant community back to school. To our lil’ ones, we’re excited to see you ready for another year of learning and growth!

While we prepare to step into another exciting year at Lil’ but Mighty, let’s take a moment to reflect on the year 2024 and share what lies ahead in 2025.

2024 has been a year of growth and adaptation. We celebrated the achievements of our graduating Primary 6 batch, who did us proud in the PSLE. Five out of six students achieved a score between AL1 and AL4. In addition, more than half of our cohort has made a remarkable jump of at least one grade since joining us. Our students’ hard work, resilience, and application of strategies were evident in their performance. Congratulations to all our graduates and their families!

This year also marked an important phase in the evolution of the PSLE English examination. The revisions to the format and weighting of the papers, set to be implemented in PSLE 2025, have begun to reshape the way students approach their preparation.

At Lil’ but Mighty, we have proactively aligned our curriculum to these changes, ensuring our students are well-prepared to excel. Our 2024 Primary 5 cohort, who will face the updated examination format in 2025, have already embarked on a tailored learning journey to equip them with the necessary skills and confidence.

We are also thrilled to announce the release of our long-awaited P3/4 Super Skills Model Composition book, published in conjunction with Singapore Asia Publishers Pte Ltd. This resource has been meticulously designed to support young learners in their writing journey. We are currently working on the P5/6 edition, and you may look forward to its release in the near future.

Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be a year of exciting growth and continued community engagement. To further build on the strong foundation established in 2024, we will introduce updated online courses for key components such as Oral, Editing, and Situational Writing, alongside new P5/6 Oral and Situational Writing Workshops. Additionally, our commitment to nurturing a love for learning and providing the best strategies, mindset, and guidance remains unwavering. We remain dedicated in our efforts to engage and inspire our community through English contests and free webinars, ensuring every student and parent feels supported on their educational journey.

As we begin this new chapter, we invite you to stay connected with us and be an active part of your child’s learning journey. Together, let’s make 2025 an exceptional year!

Warm regards,
Delia Siow

Letter from our Training Team Lead

Dear Parents, Students, and Educators,

As we embark on a new year, we hope you have had a well-deserved break to recharge and reconnect with loved ones. As we welcome 2025, I am pleased to reflect on the milestones achieved in 2024 and share our vision for the year ahead. 2024 was a year of growth as the Training Team continue to roll out initiatives to empower our teachers with innovative skills and methodologies. As the Head of Training, I am proud of our progress and am excited about our ongoing commitment to fostering a team of skilled and passionate educators.

Staff Training Programmes

In 2024, we continue to design efficient staff training sessions to support the professional development of our teachers. For instance, the training programmes included sessions on Classroom Management to help teachers navigate diverse learner abilities, and workshops to equip staff with effective communication strategies for engaging with key stakeholders, including parents.

For new teachers, we are enhancing our New Teacher Training Programme with customised individual training plans, lesson observations, and opportunities for co-teaching. These initiatives aim to familiarise our new educators with the LBM classroom environment quickly and efficiently, supported by our pool of experienced teachers. Rigorous feedback and consultation sessions are integral to this programme, ensuring new teachers become reflective practitioners and maintain high-quality teaching standards. Additionally, we are proud to have completed the development of our digital training modules, which will be officially implemented from 2025 onwards to further streamline and enhance our training efforts.

Classroom Observations
Classroom observations remain a cornerstone of our training approach. These sessions offer a platform for peer learning, constructive feedback, and practical application of acquired strategies. Trainers provide detailed observation notes to
standardise processes, identify areas for improvement, and bridge any gaps in lesson delivery. This practice ensures that our teachers are continuously growing, ultimately enriching the educational experiences of our students.

Looking Ahead
The impact of our efforts has been evident. Our teachers have demonstrated increased confidence, refined teaching methodologies, and heightened engagement with students and parents. As we move forward, the Training Team is eager to build upon these successes. In 2025, we will introduce sustained professional development programmes, further refine teaching strategies, and also work hand in hand with the mentors to build a resilient, skilled, and passionate team of educators. We are dedicated to nurturing a resilient, skilled, and dynamic team of educators. Together, we will ensure that every student benefits from the enriched learning experiences our teachers provide. I look forward to another remarkable year of growth and collaboration.

Yours sincerely,
Ms Celina Seah
Head of Training

Letter from our Mentorship Team Lead

Dear Parents, Students and Educators,

We are excited and proud to introduce the Mentorship Programme in 2025! The Mentorship Team has been hard at work in designing a programme that aims to help new teachers assimilate to the LBM culture, clarify uncertainties with confidence and discretion, build strong connections across the organisation and provide guidance in career development and advancement.

At its heart, the mentorship programme is about creating meaningful relationships where more experienced team members offer guidance to those who are looking to develop their skills and grow in their careers. Of course, likewise, mentors have plenty to learn from mentees as well, considering we all draw from different skillsets and come from different walks of life!

We look forward to providing new teachers with ongoing support and a safe channel of communication as we get to know one another better, share stories and experiences and work together to set and achieve goals!

Warmest regards,
Ms Nora Kamal
